  1. Active Consultation Process
    • consult & Involve the focus groups at all time and level
    • Actively engage responsible government agencies and other main stakeholders providers 
  2. Multi-stakeholder Partnership
    • Developing partnerships between the government agencies, private sector, NGOs and local communities to address problems andcollectively find solutions.
    • Enabling effective implementation of the project through clear role ofeach participating agencies 
  3. Participatory and practical approach
    • Encouraging participation from public/local community/school/developer/workshop
    • Providing opportunity for them esp focus on practical action for pollution prevention and clean-up 
  4. Pollution prevention at source
    • Work with agencies and polluters to solve some key pollution problems to encourage further action
    • Tackling the issues contributing to the river pollution at grass root level –targeting the main source of pollution 
  5. Smart partnership
    • Establishing good smart partnership model between government agencies, private sector and local community in overcoming river relatedissues in the country
  6. Working with ongoing activities
    • Associating and collaborate with any ongoing state/local governmentactivities 
  7. Stimulating stakeholder contributions and co-financing 
    • A platform for project stakeholders to share available resources between agencies   
  8. Involving the mainstream and social media
    • Involve newspapers, radio and TV and alternative media like blogs, Facebook and Twitter to promote and cover events and for feature stories
    • Identify local champions or ambassadors
  9. Integrated River Basin Approach
    • Balancing the need of others residing and utilizing the resources in the targeted river basin
    • Prioritise target groups/actions based on the relative pollution contributions to the subcatchments 
  10. Sustaining the activities beyond the study period (exit strategy)
    • Creating sense of ownership from all group
    • Facilitate the establishment of focused CBO groups at local level tocontinue work
    • Integrate actions with work of existing groups e.g. RAs, interest groups(rotary, lions, scouts etc)
